According to the transactions page on Cubs.com, the Rockies claimed LHP Chris Rusin off of waivers from the Cubs. Rusin pitched in four games for the Cubs this season and allowed 10 runs on 16 hits with five walks and eight strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings (7.11 ERA, 1.66 WHIP).
Chris Rusin spent a majority of the year with Triple-A Iowa and pitched a no-hitter on May 7 in New Orleans.
With the Rockies claiming Chris Rusin, the Cubs 40-man roster currently stands at 39 with three players on the 60-day DL.
The Cubs selected Chris Rusin in the fourth round of the 2009 draft. The soon-to-be 28-year old (Oct. 22) lefty was 8-13 in 23 starts for Iowa this year. Rusin allowed 75 runs on 163 hits with 38 walks and 97 strikeouts in 146 1/3 innings (4.31 ERA, 1.38 WHIP). In six minor league seasons in the Cubs system, Rusin was 38-41 with a 3.84 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.
