According to multiple reports, the Cubs have recalled LHP Zac Rosscup from Triple-A Iowa. This will be Rosscup’s fourth different stint with the big league team this season. To make room on the active roster for Rosscup, the Cubs optioned RHP Blake Parker to Triple-A Iowa.

The Cubs reinstated Darwin Barney from the paternity list and officially optioned Kyle Hendricks to Triple-A Iowa.

Zac Rosscup has pitched in 20 games for Iowa this season in between three call-ups to the big leagues and a trip to the disabled list. Rosscup was 2-0 with a 2.61 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. Rosscup gave up six runs on 15 hits with nine walks and 27 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings.

PrintRosscup showed a lot of improvement in the four games he’s pitched in for the Cubs this year. After a good Spring Training, Rosscup did not allow a run in four innings with one hit, two walks and five strikeouts.

Blake Parker picked up the win Thursday after tossing two scoreless innings against the Reds. In five games with the Cubs this season, Parker is 1-0 with a 9.53 ERA and a 1.94 WHIP. In 5 2/3 innings, Parker has allowed six runs on nine hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
