Cubs Invite 24 Players to Spring Training Including Baez, Bryant and Almora

The Cubs released the list of players that will be in big league camp this spring on non-roster invitations. Among the 24 players that will join the 40 players on the Cubs’ Major League roster includes Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Albert Almora, Kyle Hendricks and Eric Jokisch.

The Cubs also invited relievers RHP Brian Schlitter, RHP Armando Rivero and RHP Marcus Hatley. RHP Chang-Yong Lim is not included in the Cubs list of non-roster invitees.

According to Baseball America, the Cubs signed 1B Lars Anderson to a minor league contract. The team has not confirmed the signing and he is not on the list of non-roster invitees to Spring Training.

All of the players on the Cubs’ 40-man roster will be in big league camp. That includes OF Jorge Soler, IF Arismendy Alcantara, OF Brett Jackson, OF Josh Vitters and OF Matt Szczur.

Cubs pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training on Feb. 13. The first on field workout for pitchers and catchers is scheduled for Feb. 14. Position players must be in Mesa by Feb. 18 with the first full squad workout scheduled for Feb. 19.
