Cubs Release 2014 Spring Training Schedule

November 18, 2013 1:56 pm By Neil 15 Comments

The Cubs released their 2014 Spring Training schedule on Monday. As reported, the Cubs will face the Arizona Diamondbacks in their Cactus League opener on Feb. 27 in the first game at ‘Cubs Park’, their new Spring Training home in Mesa.

The Cubs make their annual trip to Las Vegas (March 15, March 16) to take on the New York Mets at Cashman Field. This spring marks the tenth straight year the Cubs have participated in the Big League Weekend in Vegas.

The Cubs wrap up their spring schedule with two exhibition games against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field (Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29).

Individual tickets for Cubs’ Spring Training home games go on sale Saturday, January 11 at 11:00am CST.

The Cubs will play 16 games in their new facility this spring. The team is calling the new Spring Training home ‘Cubs Park’ until a sponsor is secured. The Cubs play 16 road games in the Cactus League, two in Las Vegas and two at Chase Field in Phoenix. The team’s only off day is Thursday, March 13.

Rick Renteria’s team is scheduled to play 36 games between Feb. 27 and March 29 and that includes eight split squad games.
