Cubs-Rangers Game Postponed

April 17, 2013 5:33 pm By Neil 2 Comments

Wednesday night’s Cubs-Rangers game has been postponed due to weather, a make-up date has not been announced. The two teams will not play a day-night doubleheader on Thursday.

Weather is questionable at best for Thursday. Dale Sveum announced Carlos Villanueva will start for the Cubs. Ron Washington decided to skip Justin Grimm and will go with Alexi Ogando instead on Thursday.

Dale Sveum announced the Cubs will stick with their current pitching rotation and no one will be skipped. If there is a game on Thursday, Carlos Villanueva will face the Rangers with Jeff Samardzija, Edwin Jackson and Scott Feldman starting the three games in Milwaukee over the weekend.

Scott Feldman threw a bullpen on Wednesday.

The Sun-Times reported that if the two teams cannot agree on a mutual day off, they could wait until the end of the season to make-up the game if it is needed to determine playoff spots.

Two of the Cubs first 10 home games of the season have been postponed.
