The 2011 Cubs Convention is Just Around the Corner

Details of the 2011 Cubs Convention have begun surfacing with only eight days until the annual event at the Chicago Hilton … the 26th Annual Cubs Convention kicks off on Friday, January 14.

The Cubs tribute to Ron Santo figures to be the most attended session of the weekend. Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ferguson Jenkins and Randy Hundley will be among those on hand to share their stories of the Cubs’ legend.

Greg Maddux will also be in attendance and join Jim Hendry, Randy Bush and Mike Quade in the Meet Cubs Baseball Management session.

Here is a compiled list of attendees from several sources as well as a portion of the schedule. The full schedule should be released over the weekend … but here is what is known at this point. The CCO will update when more information becomes available. **NOTE: THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE SCHEDULE – SATURDAY IS A FULL DAY OF SESSION AND THE CCO WILL POST THE FULL SCHEDULE ONCE IT IS RELEASED**

Friday, January 14th

  • 5:00pm – 5:30pm – Opening Ceremonies
  • 6:00pm – 6:45pm – Autograph Treasure Hunt
  • 7:00pm – 9:00pm – Sports Night Live with Brian Noonan and Judd Sirott … the two hour show will be simulcast on 720 WGN
  • — 7:00pm – 7:30pm – Tom Ricketts, Jim Hendry and Mike Quade
  • — 7:30pm – 8:00pm – Andrew Cashner, James Russell and Randy Wells

  • 10:30am – 11:30am – Pitching Evolution – with Kerry Wood, Randy Wells, Sean Marshall, Jeff Samardzija, Andrew Cashner and Mark Riggins, the Cubs’ new pitching coach
  • 12:00pm – 1:00pm – The Q Factor – with Mike Quade, Rudy Jaramillo, Lester Strode, Ivan DeJesus, Bobby Dernier, Mark Riggins and Dave Keller
  • 1:00pm – 2:00pm – On the Road with #10 – with Pat Hughes, Judd Sirott, Cory Provus and Andy Masur
  • 1:30pm – 2:30pm – Meet Cubs Business Management
  • 2:30pm – 3:30pm – Off the Field and Off the Cuff – with Sean Marshall, John Grabow, Mike Bielecki and Todd Walker
  • 3:00pm – 4:00pm – Remembering Ronnie – with Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ferguson Jenkins, Glen Beckert, Randy Hundley, Milt Pappas and Jose Cardinal
