From the Wire … Gray Outrighted to Triple-A

October 26, 2010 5:52 pm By Neil Leave a Comment

The Cubs 40-man roster shuffle continued on Tuesday. According to a report from the Daily Herald, Jeff Gray was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa creating another spot on the Cubs’ 40-man roster. The Cubs big league roster currently stands at 37 players.

Jeff Gray was acquired on December 3, 2009 from the Oakland A’s along with Ronny Morla and Matt Spencer for Jake Fox, Aaron Miles and cash. Jeff Gray was supposed to have a huge role in the Cubs’ pen out of Spring Training … but Gray got hurt shortly before pitchers and catchers reported and never got on track.

Gray appeared in just seven games for the Cubs and posted a 1-0 record with a 6.75 ERA and a 1.82 WHIP.
