A Look at the Peoria Chiefs and Boise Hawks

August 24, 2010 3:00 am By Neil 1 Comment

The Peoria Chiefs feature several of the top prospects in the Cubs organization this season. From Hak-Ju Lee to Logan Watkins to Jae-Hoon Ha have played for the Chiefs this season … as well as one of the top arms in the Cubs’ system, Trey McNutt.

Peoria was recently in Kane County playing the Cougars and one of the Faithful was in attendance for those games. Grant emailed the CCO a few photos of the Chiefs as well as the Hawks and shared a few his observations … Notes on a few of the Cubs’ young prospects:

Hak-Ju Lee
Lee has shown improvement this season both at the plate and in the field. Lee’s speed is as advertised and plays ball as perfect as you would want an A-baller to. Lee has a lot of range at short.

Logan Watkins
Watkins show flashes of a very good player but is in consistent

Jae-Hoon Ha
Ha hit for the cycle the weekend Grant saw the Chiefs. Ha hit a homer and was the most impressive player that weekend.

Brandon May
May was also impressive and could end up as one of the Cubs’ top 20 prospects in the off-season.

Matt Cerda
Cerda is a scrappy player with a strong arm that needs to work on his offense
