Aramis Ramirez to the DL … Chad Tracy to be Recalled?

June 9, 2010 12:01 am By Neil Leave a Comment

Aramis Ramirez missed his second game in a row Tuesday night … reportedly to give his left thumb more time to heal. The other reason, Ramirez is not hitting.

Multiple reports Tuesday night indicated Aramis Ramirez will be placed on the DL Wednesday and Chad Tracy will be recalled from Triple-A Iowa … a move that should have been made weeks ago.

Updated – 6:09pm CDT – Aramis Ramirez placed 15-day DL – Chad Tracy Recalled from Triple-A Iowa According to a report from the Tribune, “Ramirez’s sore left thumb will be listed as the cause of the DL stint, but the reality is the Cubs can’t afford to have Ramirez dragging down the lineup every day.”

The Tribune reported Aramis Ramirez will not see a hand specialist.

Chad Tracy has been tearing the cover off the ball in Iowa. But if the Cubs recall Tracy, they must play him and not sit him on the bench while using Mike Fontenot at third base.

Stay Tuned …
