According to a recap of the Iowa Cubs win on Friday night, the Cubs will recall Sam Fuld from Triple-A on Saturday in order to take the roster spot of Geovany Soto.
Soto will officially be placed on the 15-day DL Saturday. According to the report, “Fuld was taken out of the game because he was called up by Chicago to take the roster spot of the injured Geovany Soto.”
The Cubs reportedly put in a waiver claim on Chris Coste to backup Koyie Hill while Soto is out. The Cubs are looking for a veteran backup and do not appear willing to call-up Chris Robinson or Steve Clevenger at this time.
