According to a report from Jayson Stark on ESPN.com, the Cubs signed So Taguchi to a minor league contract on Thursday that includes an invitation to Spring Training.

Taguchi will earn $900,000 in 2009 if he makes the big league club out of Spring Training.

The Cubs agreed to a one-year contract with infielder Ronny Cedeno on Thursday and avoided arbitration. Cedeno will earn $822,500 in 2009 according to a report from the Associated Press. So Taguchi hit .220 with a .283 OBP in 91 at bats for the Phillies last season with five doubles and a triple.

Ronny Cedeno joined Reed Johnson, Neal Cotts and Chad Gaudin on Thursday by agreeing to a one-year contract and avoiding arbitration. Kevin Gregg and Michael Wuertz are the only two arbitration eligible players yet to sign new contracts for the 2009 season.
