After agreeing to a three-year deal believed to be worth around $30 million on Monday, the Cubs officially signed Milton Bradley on Thursday after he passed his physical. The Cubs are scheduled to introduce Milton Bradley at a 3:30pm C.T. press conference Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field. Bradley is expected to wear number 21 for the Chicago Cubs.

Updated – 1/9/09 – 7:50am C.T. – With Information on Bradley’s Contract Details of Bradley’s contract have not been released yet but there appears to be incentives in the contract based on game played.

Update – 1/9/09 – 7:50am C.T. – According to a report in the Sun-Times, Milton Bradley will earn a $5 million base salary in 2009 and $9 million in 2010 with a $4 million signing bonus split over the two seasons.

Bruce Levine reported, after the Cubs agreed to terms with Bradley, that the third year was an option year….and according to the Sun-Times, Bradley is scheduled to earn $12 million in 2011 “but a multilayered set of clauses turns the final year into a team option“. The third year appears to be a vesting team option that Levine reported based on games played in the first two years with a $2 million buyout.
