According to a report from the Associated Press, Kosuke Fukudome has decided to play in the states next season. The report from the AP has been picked up by several news sources, including ESPN. The AP states the Nikkansports newspaper reported Fukudome’s decision on Sunday.
To quote the report from Nagoya, Japan:
“Japanese free-agent Kosuke Fukudome has decided not to move to the Yomiuri Giants and will sign with a major league team instead, the Nikkansports newspaper reported on Sunday.”
JapanBall.com has yet to pick up the release. This announcement is two days ahead of the time frame Joe Urbon made in several statements on Friday, but this appears to be official.
