From the Wire….Fukudome to Play in the Majors?

According to a report by Ken Rosenthal, It’s official….Kosuke Fukudome has decided to play Major League Baseball in the states next season. According to Rosenthal the decision on “whether to join the Cubs, Padres or an unidentified third finalist” could come as early as Friday night or Saturday.

Updated – 4:59pm C.T. – Fukudome Denies Report

According to a report on Cubs.com, Kosuke Fukudome has denied he has made a decision on whether he will play in the majors next season or stay in Japan and play with the Tokyo Giants.
Update – Several reports out of Chicago are indicating Fukudome’s decision might not come until early next week. Joe Urbon, Fukudome’s agent, said his client will first inform the Tokyo Giants out of respect before his decision is announced.

The Sun-Times reported “the offers are detailed enough” if Fukudome makes his decision known be early next week, he could be signed by the end of the week.
