The Cubs signed pitchers Adam Harben and Matt Harrington to Minor League Contracts on Wednesday

The Cubs made a couple of additions to their farm system on Wednesday. They resigned Adam Harben, who they did not tender a contract to on Tuesday, and signed right-handed pitcher Matt Harrington. Harben was resigned just a day after the Cubs decided to not tender him a contract for the 2007 season and is no longer on the 40-man roster. Harben was acquired last season in the deal that sent Phil Nevin to the Minnesota Twins. Harben pitched for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League.

Harrington was the 7th round pick by the Colorado Rockies in 2000 and has pitched for the Fort Worth Cats since 2002. Harrington pitched in 39 games out of the pen last season and had a 6-1 record with a 2.90 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP.
