November 10, 2006 2:39 pm By Neil Leave a Comment

Updated – 5:24pm C.T. – With Info on Gary Sheffield and Aramis Ramirez

According to reports on ESPN Radio and ESPN.com, Gary Sheffield was traded to the Detroit Tigers on Friday afternoon for three Minor League pitchers and was given a 2-year extension. The three pitchers are: Humberto Sanchez, Kevin Whelan and Anthony Claggett.

Update… Sheffield will be reunited with Jim Leyland and the Tigers paid with their best pitching prospect. Humberto Sanchez is a big time prospect and was the number one arm in the Tigers system.

Aramis Ramirez…. According to reports on ESPN.com and XM Radio it is looking like Ramirez will hit the streets at 12:01 am on Sunday and test the free agent market. Paul Kinzer is saying he wants 6 years for Ramirez and the $100 million dollar mark is continuing to surface. The Cubs are rumored to have offered Ramirez a 5-year, $70 million dollar contract according to one rumor and 5 years and $75 million dollars according to another rumor.

Will update if more information becomes available….

Also, don’t forget to check in with the CCO throughout the weekend for the latest on Aramis Ramirez and the free agent frenzy that starts on Sunday.
