Game One Hundred Fifty-Nine: Cubs (64-94) vs. Brewers (73-84)
Game Time – 7:05pm C.T. Comcast SportsNet, WGN Radio, XM Radio Channel 188
Location – Wrigley Field, Chicago

Rich Hill (6-7, 4.29) vs. Dave Bush (12-11, 4.54)

The Cubs Minor League Player of the Year will make his final start of the season for the Cubs tonight. Rich Hill, along with Donald Veal, was named the Cubs Minor League players of the year recently. Rich Hill is actually coming off of back-to-back complete games. Hill threw a complete game shutout against the Reds at Wrigley on September 16th and pitched all 5 innings of the rain-shortened game against the Reds last Friday in Cincinnati. Hill took the loss but struck out 10 in just 5 innings….in his last 35 innings, Hill has struck out 43 and walked just 8. Hill could not keep the Reds in the park and gave up 3 home runs that resulted in all 4 runs he allowed on the night. Hill had not given up a home run since August 26th against the Cardinals. His ERA for the month doubled with the short outing but is still under 2.00 for the month at 1.80 and he has given up just 20 earned runs in his last 64 2/3 innings (2.78 ERA) while posting a 6-3 record. This will be Hill’s first appearance against the Brewers this season and in 1 game last season he threw 4 1/3 innings of shutout ball in relief….he struck out 6 and walked 2.

Wednesday will be Dave Bush’s 5th start of the season against the Cubs. He is 1-2 in those 4 games with a 3.58 ERA. He did beat the Cubs at Wrigley on August 9th and gave up just 3 runs on 3 hits in 8 innings. Bush has had a good month, recorded his 2nd complete game of the season (shutout the Astros on September 10th) and has posted a 3-1 record with a 3.58 ERA.
