Neifi Perez Traded on Sunday to the Detroit Tigers for Minor League Catcher
On Sunday, as rumored in the Chicago Sun-Times, the Cubs traded Neifi Perez to the Detroit Tigers for Minor League catcher Chris Robinson. Perez will help the Tigers with the recent injury to Placido Polanco. The Cubs received Chris Robinson who will report to the Daytona Cubs (A). In 94 games with the Lakeland Tigers (A), Robinson hit .288 (92-319) with 1 home run and 47 RBI’s (.338 OBP/.367 OBP). Robinson was a 3rd round draft pick of the Tigers in 2005 out of the University of Illinois. Named the best defensive catcher in the Minor League system of the Detroit Tigers in 2005.
