The Draft – Day One

The 2006 First-Year player draft concludes today in Houston and the Cubs took 15 total players on Day One. The Cubs selected outfielder Tyler Colvin with the 13th overall pick in the first round on Monday and right handed pitcher Jeff Samardzija in the 5th round, Samardzija was listed as the second best athlete among college prospects in the draft according to Baseball America and will play both baseball and football.
