Minor League Report – 04/19/06

The Iowa Cubs (7-6) and West Tenn Diamond Jaxx (9-4) have begun the season the same way as the big league club with wins to start the season….but not on Tuesday, both teams lost. The Iowa Cubs were beaten 7-6 by the Albuquerque Isotopes (Florida Marlins) and the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx were beaten by the Mississippi Braves 4-2.

Ryan O’Malley took the loss for Iowa and Thomas Atlee took the loss for the Diamond Jaxx…. Iowa Cubs – Felix Pie went 1 for 5 with a run scored and 2 strikeouts. Ryan Theriot went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Michael Restovich was 3 for 5 with a run scored and 3 RBI’s and Brandon Sing is now at the Mendoza Line….Sing went 1 for 3 in the loss. Michael Wuertz blew the lead for Iowa and gave up a run on 3 hits in 3 innings of work. Raul Valdes had a decent outing pitching 5 innings and allowing 5 runs on 5 hits.

West Tenn Diamond Jaxx – The Diamond Jaxx only recorded 7 hits on Tuesday and Luis Montanez went 1 for 3. Scott Moore and Micah Hoffpauir both hit home runs in the losing effort.

Tuesday was a little dim, but the future is looking bright….
