Breaking News – Cubs Trade for Pierre

December 7, 2005 6:00 am By Neil Leave a Comment

According to several reports, ESPN and the Chicago Sun-Times the Cubs have reached agreement on a trade that would send Juan Pierre to the Chicago Cubs.

The Chicago Cubs are expected to land their leadoff man Wednesday, according to a high-ranking baseball official. Hendry reached agreement with the Florida Marlins late Tuesday on a trade that would reportedly net Chicago center fielder Juan Pierre in exchange for a package that includes Double-A pitching prospects Ricky Nolasco and Renyel Pinto according to Cubs.com.

The Florida Marlins have tentatively agreed on a four-player deal that would send Juan Pierre to the Chicago Cubs, for three young pitchers — Sergio Mitre and prospects Renyel Pinto and Ricky Nolasco, ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark reported early Wednesday.

The deal is pending physicals examinations.

My take is the deal is going to happen, the question is now…what players will be included
