The Wrigley Field bleacher expansion started after the 2005 season was over and crews are hard at work. The Cubs have stated the expansion will be complete by Opening Day of 2006. Here is some useless information about Wrigley Field. -Bill Veck planted the vines on the wall in 1937

-The Last World Series game at Wrigley was against the Detroit Tigers in 1945

-The first official night game was played on August 9, 1988. It was originally scheduled for August 8, 1988. That game was rained out.

-The original name for Wrigley Field when it was built in 1914 was Weegham Park.

-A seminary was located on the property that is now Wrigley Field

-The largest crowd at Wrigley was 51,556 on June 27, 1930.

-The Cubs longest game at Wrigley is 6 hours and 10 minutes on August 17, 1992.

-The scoreboard was constructed in 1937 and the clock was added in 1941.

Hopefully the change of Wrigley will bring a change at Wrigley in 2006.

160 days until Opening Day 2006!!!
