There is no word on what corresponding move will be made to make room for him in the pen, but it was speculated that Luis Vizcaino could be released. Samardzija is coming off one of his best starts as a professional after he went 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on 1 hit. As a whole he has been dominant in Triple-A holding hitters to a .154 AVG and striking out 11 in 12 innings pitched.

According to a report from Ed Sherman, the Daily Herald's coverage of both Chicago baseball teams will not include reports from the road this season.
