According to a report from Ed Sherman, the Daily Herald's coverage of both Chicago baseball teams will not include reports from the road this season.
Bruce Miles, the Cubs beat writer, and Scot Gregor, the Sox beat writer, will continue to cover the teams but only for home games. The reason...the nearly six figures it takes to send a writers on the road.
Bruce Miles will not be in Houston Monday for Opening Day.
The Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times will continue their home and road coverage of both teams. As the report pointed out, with the current state of the newspaper business both Paul Sullivan and Gordon Wittenmyer could find themselves covering only games at Wrigley before long as well.
