Cubs Inform Alberto Gonzalez and Zach Putnam No Longer in Mix for Opening Day Roster

While the spring roster cuts are not official, according to multiple reports the Cubs told Alberto Gonzalez and Zach Putnam they are no longer in the mix for a spot on the Opening Day roster. Both players are expected to be re-assigned to minor league camp in the coming days.
