Cubs Option Wells and Hart…Re-Assign So Taguchi

The Cubs announced the latest round of roster moves before Sunday’s game against the Tribe. Kevin Hart and Randy Wells were optioned to Triple-A Iowa and So Taguchi was reassigned to Minor League camp. Mark Johnson, Esteban German and Andres Blanco were also re-assigned to minor league camp.

So, could Taguchi take Gathright’s spot?

Hear it once and overlook it, hear it twice and it might have legs…Two different reports, one from Carrie Muskat and the other from Gordon Wittenmyer, mentioned So Taguchi has outplayed Joey Gathright this spring…and Lou Piniella has noticed.
