According to multiple reports, the Cubs avoided arbitration on Wednesday with catcher Koyie Hill. Hill agreed to a one-year deal worth $850,000. Koyie Hill earned $700,000 in 2010 and is favored to be the back-up to Geovany Soto when the season begins.
