Following Thursday’s game, the Cubs announced they acquired right-handed pitcher Justin Germano from the Boston Red Sox for cash considerations. To make room on the active roster and 40-man roster for Germano, the Cubs designated Jairo Asencio for assignment. The Cubs 40-man roster remains at 40 players with Thursday’s roster moves.
