According to multiple reports, the Cubs claimed right-handed pitcher Miguel Socolovich off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. To make room on the 40-man roster, Blake Lalli was designated for assignment. The Cubs have only two catchers remaining on the 40-man roster, Steve Clevenger and Welington Castillo.
