Rumors began to surface over the weekend about the Cubs possible interest in Jim Edmonds. A report in the Tribune on Monday morning mentioned the Cubs were "exploring the possibility" of adding the former Cardinal to their roster. Multiple reports following Monday night's game against the Padres stated the Cubs "are poised to ink the lefty-hitting outfielder." The Padres designated Edmonds for assignment on Friday after a slow start to the season.
