Cubs activate RHP Wade Davis from Paternity List … Send RHP Dylan Floro back to Triple-A Iowa
Prior to the second of the three-game series with the Marlins, the Cubs activated right-handed pitcher Wade Davis from the paternity list and optioned right-handed pitcher Dylan Floro to Triple-A Iowa.
Wade Davis will be available for the Cubs on Tuesday night as they continue their three-game series against the Miami Marlins at Wrigley Field.
Davis, 31, is 2-0 with 12 saves, a 0.89 ERA (two earned runs in 20 1/3 innings) and a 0.73 WHIP in 21 relief outings this season. Davis has allowed three runs, two earned, on eight hits with seven walks and 27 strikeouts.
Dylan Floro, 26, has no record and an 8.53 ERA (six earned runs in 6 13 innings) in two relief outings with the Cubs this season. With Iowa, he has gone 2-1 with one save and a 4.01 ERA (11 earned runs in 24 23 IP) in 14 appearances, one as a starter.
Davis and his wife, Katelyn, welcomed their second child, a boy the couple named Ty, into the world on Monday.
