For the second time in less than a year, the CCO reached another internet milestone. Sometime on Tuesday afternoon, Chicago Cubs Online received its two millionth hit of the 2014 calendar year. That follows the CCO receiving two million hits in December 2013, which gave the site 10 million hit since it launched in 2005!
What’s more, The CCO Twitter feed added another 1,300 followers, and The CCO Minors Twitter feed increase by over 600 followers. All combined, it continues to demonstrate that the CCO is one of the fastest growing Cubs websites on the internet.
As is always the case, none of this would be possible without our loyal readers, who make Chicago Cubs Online their stop for all things concerning their favorite baseball team. Through the years, founder Neil Finnell has worked tirelessly to provide a no-nonsense approach toward giving Cubs fans the most up to date information. In addition, he has provided his readers a forum in which anyone can comment without the fear of being berated or belittled by their fellow posters. Brian McCabe has also given readers a light-hearted look at the organization without talking down or debasing anyone. And this season, the CCO has added Chris K. with statistical analysis of both the team and the players.
So congratulations to Neil and all of our readers at the CCO! Hopefully, among the next few million hits will be a discussion about the World Series Champions!
