CCO Fantasy Baseball League – Week 13

Once again we had another week of good games. Three games decided by less than 20 points, while two more decided by 30 points. Eight wins is where the playoffs are at now and we have one 8-5 team sitting on the outside.Only two teams sit one game back at 7-6 and two other teams at 6-7, two games back. We are starting to see some separation as we now have seven teams that are three games or more back. They are going to have to go on a winning streak to get back into contention with just eight weeks left before the playoffs.

Hatfield’s and McCoy’s

We have had 3 weeks of interleague play and our 2nd 5-5 week. That leaves the bragging rights with the Hatfield’s (Waveland) with a record 16-14 over the McCoy’s (Sheffield).

#5 BigJonLilJon’s Lehair of the Dog (9-4) 352 over #1 Kentucky Ripsnorters (10-3) 317

Big Jon had a big 1st day and that was the difference in a very good game. Rip’s 5 game winning streak is over and Big Jon has 9 wins in the last 11 weeks after starting out 0-2.

Kentucky Ripsnorters: Ryan Braun 34 pts. (HR, 3B, 2 2B, 6 R, 7 RBI, SB) Francisco Rodriquez 30 pts. (4 IP, 6 K, H, 0 BB, 1 ER, W, 2 Saves)

Hard fought match up. If Boston wouldn’t have sent down De la Rosa could have got the win. Good match digger.

    • Chris K.

      Agreed. Down to the wire!

  • Cubbiemacg

Could use some corner outfield help. Have pagan, singleton, or anyone who matches up closely for the help

    • Tony_H

Corner OF, especially RF seems to be the hardest to find. I bet they go fast next year.

      • Cubbiemacg

Wroth cudyear going out until September I took a big hit I believe my offense scored less than 30 points the last two days. I have to get an everyday player at c and rf/lf or I’m going to fade come the playoffs. But at least my pitching has been killing it

Nate Schierholtz is the most regular RF available and only averaging 1.9 pts/game. RF is tough to fill. I picked up Corey Hart just hoping that he can come back and hit for a few months. I waited on RF, SS and C on offense. I got lucky at SS with Crawford (12th SS) and Zunino (13th C) but RF, Swisher has been hurt and not all that great, and all my back-up options have not been good.

With 20 teams, we can’t be loaded at every spot.

          • BigJonLilJon

Unfortunately with Myers going to DL I’m down to only 3 RF’s…..Might be able to trade one of them for right offer

      Leonys Martin is available

    • TheWrongGuy

I have been searching for bats for awhile nobody is trading any bats unless you over pay in a trade. I been searching for a bat since I lost B. Harper to the DL awhile ago. If happen you to notice he just returned from the DL. I think Tony should up the price of pitching :)

      • Tony_H

Any player that is Top 10 at their position or any SP that averages 12 pts or more a game are worth a lot and it shows in how hard trades are to make.

I am not going to trade away a SP without getting a definite upgrade at another position.

        • Cubbiemacg

I have pitching to trade just better be worthy of a trade

  • Cubbiemacg

Could use some corner outfield help. Have pagan, singleton, or anyone who matches up closely for the help

  • Ripsnorter1

I have two SP on the DL, so I had only 5 starts on my roster. I needed to pick up 3 starts last week, and I picked up the Yanks Chase Whitley. He put up a -17, so I had to put up 17 points to be even. I lost by 34. If Mr. Whitley had put up just a 1 point start, I win for the week.

  • JasonOfTheBurbs

yeah…my team pulled a Jim Carrey with the unnecessarily over-the-top production this week. With some of the tough losses this year, having a solid performance when I didn’t need it was kind of bittersweet.

    • Tony_H

I just looked at my match-up and see that I get a de facto bye week. The following week, I actually go on vacation and it is our match-up.

  • Tony_H

    2 big match-ups this week.

#1 Kentucky Ripsnorters vs #3 FL JimBoC
    #2 The Calicubs vs #5 07Greydigger’s Crushers

  • JasonOfTheBurbs

Just thought you all (and Tony) should know, in case it wasn’t obvious enough: I love my team, want/need none of your players, and am pretty sure I will be accepting a shiny 1st-place trophy after I sneak in the playoffs and decimate my competition as my SPs peak near the season’s end…just as I planned.

    • Tony_H

Said the man in 13th place and 11th in points. Not saying impossible, but you are 2 games back and 100 points back in points, so that makes it 3 games right now.

That’s a lot to make up in just 8 weeks, especially with a loss next week :)

      • JasonOfTheBurbs

so weird…it looks like someone replied to my post, but it just looks blank to me. Huh.

        • TheWrongGuy

No worries for you JasonofTheBurbs I beat Tony already. :)
You should be able to cruise through that week. : )
