In the world of the Internet, a milestone becomes hard to pinpoint. With that said at some point over the last 24 hours, ChicagoCubsOnline received its ten millionth hit since it was established in 2005. What makes this extra special is that the CCO has received two million of those hits in 2013, in less than eleven months! Add to that a Twitter feed that is closing in on five thousand followers, and a second Twitter feed dedicated to the minors surpassing eight hundred followers in less than a year. All combined, it demonstrates that the CCO is one of the fastest growing Cubs websites on the internet.
As is always the case, none of this would be possible without our loyal readers, who make ChicagoCubsOnline their stop for all things concerning their favorite baseball team. Through the years, Neil has worked tirelessly provide a no-nonsense approach toward giving Cubs fans the most up to date information. In addition, he has provided his readers a forum in which anyone can comment without the fear of being berated or belittled by their fellow posters. Brian McCabe has also given readers a light-hearted look at the organization without talking down or debasing anyone. Three years ago, Neil gave yours truly, an unknown, a chance to share his passion for minor league baseball, and I am forever indebted for his kindness and patience.
So congratulations to Neil and all of our readers at the CCO! Hopefully, among the next ten million hits will be a discussion about the World Series Champions!
