Thanks, Ten Million!

In the world of the Internet, a milestone becomes hard to pinpoint. With that said at some point over the last 24 hours, ChicagoCubsOnline received its ten millionth hit since it was established in 2005. What makes this extra special is that the CCO has received two million of those hits in 2013, in less than eleven months! Add to that a Twitter feed that is closing in on five thousand followers, and a second Twitter feed dedicated to the minors surpassing eight hundred followers in less than a year. All combined, it demonstrates that the CCO is one of the fastest growing Cubs websites on the internet.

As is always the case, none of this would be possible without our loyal readers, who make ChicagoCubsOnline their stop for all things concerning their favorite baseball team. Through the years, Neil has worked tirelessly provide a no-nonsense approach toward giving Cubs fans the most up to date information. In addition, he has provided his readers a forum in which anyone can comment without the fear of being berated or belittled by their fellow posters. Brian McCabe has also given readers a light-hearted look at the organization without talking down or debasing anyone. Three years ago, Neil gave yours truly, an unknown, a chance to share his passion for minor league baseball, and I am forever indebted for his kindness and patience.

So congratulations to Neil and all of our readers at the CCO! Hopefully, among the next ten million hits will be a discussion about the World Series Champions!

Thank you, CCO, for being the best Cubs website in the world! I live in Pennsylvania, and this is the most reliable place for me to get my updates and information about my favorite sports team, the Chicago Cubs. This is the first site I go to every time I log on to the internet, even if the last time I logged on was only 20 minutes prior! :) And thank you to all the posters and supporters of this site. It’s wonderful coming to a site where everyone has the same love of and devotion for the Cubs as I do, and we can all share in it. I have been reading posts for so many years now that I feel like I know most of the posters and consider them like friends, if you understand my meaning. I will always support the CCO and its high level of integrity.

Due to my father’s recent passing, I have been unable to contribute recently but I would like to take the time to say thank you to Neil, Tom and Brian and especially their families who give up some of their time with these men so we can share in their expertise and opinion. This is truly the best site for all things ‘Cub’. Also, a big thanks to all the posters who make coming to this site, everyday, a worthwhile experience. Additionally, a special thanks to Tony Hall and Cubtex, who are personally responsible for 5 million of the 10 million hits on this site. Love those guys!! :) :)

Very cool. This has always been, and will continue to be, the first stop for reliable Cubs information, passionate discussion, pessimism and optimism in fairly equal doses, and just flat out great people to converse with. Kudos to all.
