Jim Deshaies Lands Cubs Color Analyst Job

According to multiple reports, Jim Deshaies has been hired to replace Bob Brenly in the Cubs’ booth. Deshaies left the same position with the Astros to team up with Len Kasper to call games for WGN TV and Comcast SportsNet … ‘The Len and J.D. Show‘.

Updated 3:10pm CSTAccording to Alyson Footer, Jim Deshaies signed a four-year contract. The Astros countered the offer with a fair market value. Paul Sullivan reported that Len Kasper pushed hard for the Cubs and WGN to hire Jim Deshaies.

There were several candidates interested in replacing Bob Brenly in the Cubs’ booth with the job first opened but it appeared to be down to Jim Deshaies, Eric Karros, Todd Hollandsworth and Mark DeRosa in recent days.

Jim Deshaies has been calling games for the Astros since 1997.
