From the Wire … Soto Placed on DL, Castillo Recalled

According to multiple reports, the Cubs placed Geovany Soto on the 15-day DL Wednesday with a left groin strain. The Cubs recalled Welington Castillo from Triple-A Iowa and is available for Wednesday’s game. Koyie Hill is in the starting lineup for Wednesday but Welington Castillo could receive a start Thursday with Casey Coleman taking the hill in the finale against the Cardinals.

The Cubs have not released a possible timeframe for Soto’s return.

    Wellington had better have been called up to play everyday. Aside from today’s start he better not even start more than three times in the next two plus weeks.

    I assume he’ll be in the eight hole?

    Let’s hope the kid gets off to a good start and stays hot making it difficult to send him down when Soto comes back.

    Despite the fact that I type in http://www.ChicagoCubsOnline.com , it automatically redirects to http://www.ChicagoCubsOnline.com/mobile on my home computer. It’s been like this now for nearly 1-year and I’m quite annoyed by it. I’ve attempted to contact you before ( a few times) regarding this, and you never got back to me with a fix. Can anyone help?

      This doesn’t sound like a CCO.com issue, this sounds like a setting on your computer. I just used your link to go to the mobile site, and just backed out the part after .com and it went back to the main site.

    According to my friend in Tenn, apperantly Brett Jackson may have broken his wrist or hand. Not good, i hope its not true

      Wow. I did not hear that one. I hope your friend has the wrong info. A broken hand / wrist would set Jackson back 1 1/2 – 2 years before he regains any power stroke or ability to really drive the ball.
