Cubs-Giants Game Postponed

The Cubs and Giants game scheduled for Sunday, May 15 has been postponed due to inclement weather. The Cubs have not announced a make-up date but it will likely be rescheduled as a part of a doubleheader in late June when the Giants make a second trip to Wrigley (June 28-June 30).

The Cubs-Rockies game from April 27 was rescheduled for Monday, June 27 with the addition of a fourth game to the Giants series the Cubs last day off before the All-Star break will be June 23.

The Cubs will play 18 in a row from June 24 through July 10.

With Sunday’s rainout, the Cubs completed the eight-game homestand with a disappointing 3-5 record. Q’s squad could not come up with a hit with runners in scoring position for a majority of the eight games.

The Cubs announced Carlos Zambrano and Matt Garza will pitch the two games in Cincinnati with Ryan Dempster and Casey Coleman taking the hill in Miami.

The Giants got lucky. Big Z would have shut them down and the Cub offense would have knocked Lincecum around. The Sunday ‘O For’ would have ended.

Sure. No doubt about it. LOL

Ha! If I say it several times fast enough, it sounds good.

Actually this works out good for the Cubs. Hopefully they get some confidence with men in scoring position before then. Plus we will have ARAM in our lineup then. All in all it is better to just postpone it than try and play in a deluge like last night.

Interesting change in the pitching rotation by Quade, Davis a lefty and not a lot of velocity is slated for the first game at Fenway on Friday. Lefthanders have not met with a lot of success there. Hopefully Davis can throw a lot of groundballs.
As for the Cub hitters, they hit very few high flyballs and those are needed to carry the Green Monster and the ones they do hit (line drives) will be singles off the wall. Should be a very entertaining game and I am looking forward to it.

One more thing, maybe the Ricketts can get a few ideas on how to improve Wrigley as the Red Sox did.

It would be very special if  Castro and Barney would make the All Star team as a
pair. The baseball world would be introduced to a real treat watching the both of them together. I have posted very early on that the two of them would become favorites of fans in Chicago and they are and will only get better. I don’t know if they can keep their present pace up,but I am enjoying it now and not worrying about it.

I just wrote in Barney on the ballot (not sure why DeWitt is on there), and voted the full 25 times.

Same here. 25 times. Castro and Barney deserve an All-Star feast.

The rain today assures that the string of losse’s on Sunday’s have come to an end.
Not by a victory but at least not by a loss.
I wonder why Aram was not inserted into the game yesterday as he was in the dugout. Could it be that inclement weather is also in his contract?
Although DeWitt playing third base( and that is supposed to be his natural position)
did not impress with his glove. The weather had little to do with it as it was the same when he played there before.
As I had mentioned before,Barney and Castro continue to impress
Hill continues to prove why he should not be playing
Pena continues to impress with his glove, but also continues to decline with the bat.
Byrd, with a strong wind behind him and playing shallow still cannot throw a runner out at the plate.
I can’t wait to see Soriono at Fenway, real advantage for him, as he gets to play
very shallow, and plenty of room for Castro to back him up on flyballs
On the whole should be an interesting week ahead big Z and Garza should keep the Cubs close Monday and Tuesday, may be able to squeak a couple in early..
