From the Wire … Chirinos Added to Cubs 40-man Roster … Adduci Outrighted

The Cubs announced two changes to their 40-man roster on Friday. Robinson Chirinos was selected from Double-A Tennessee and added to the team’s big league roster.

Jim Adduci was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa and was removed from the 40-man roster, which currently stands at 37 players.

Once the Cubs activate John Grabow and Angel Guzman from the 60-day DL, the Cubs will have only one roster spot avaiable. Xavier Nady is expected to file for free agency five days after the World Series.

More roster moves should be on the horizon … stay tuned

Quote of the Day

And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A. Happy 4th of July!
