From the Wire … Chad Tracy Receives Cubs Final Roster Spot

According to reports from the Sun-Times and Tribune, Chad Tracy received the Cubs’ final roster spot on Tuesday … over Kevin Millar.

Jim Hendry said it was a “tough decision” to release Kevin Millar.

The Cubs also optioned Sam Fuld and Micah Hoffpauir to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday. The Cubs will add Chad Tracy to the 40-man roster. With the additions of Tracy and James Russell, the Cubs should begin the season with 39 players on their 40-man roster.

According to reports from the Sun-Times, Chad Tracy’s defensive versatility and the fact he hits from the left side gave Tracy the advantage over Kevin Millar.
