Lilly to Undergo MRI on Right Knee

According to multiple reports out of Mesa on Thursday afternoon, the Cubs sent Ted Lilly to have an MRI on his right knee. Lilly has been feeling the pain in the right knee for the last few days according to the Tribune.

Updated – 2:52 pm CSTAccording to a repot from ESPN Chicago, Ted Lilly threw off of flat ground on Thursday for the first time since his shoulder surgery. Lilly threw 25 pitches.

Ted Lilly told reporters on Wednesday he anticipated being able to pitch around Opening Day … the Cubs put a timeline of between April 15 and May 1 on Lilly’s return from shoulder surgery in November.

Lilly had his left knee scoped last July.
