Man I wish I could attend. Have not had the opportunity in my time... but maybe someday.

Muskat mentioned that fun Dawson Game that I posted about the other day where he was face beaned. 1987, whew I was 11 ha ha ha.

What a great couple of days for Cub fans! Maddux coming back to the team is HUGE. Think about it, Ryno is in the mix to be the next manager. Mad-Dog is on the payroll. Dawson is making his presence felt. Bring back Gracey for the broadcasting gig. It is starting to feel like the Cubs are reuniting the guys who "Did it Right".

Again I will give Hendry credit where credit is due. It was reported that he approached Maddux a few months ago, MY GOD IS THAT FORSIGHT??? I cannot be 100% sure that Hendry is pulling the strings here or if Ricketts is, But the personelle is shaping up nicely regardless!

Jaramillo and Maddux are the biggest signings of this offseason thus far...
That is unless Hendry can land former nemesis and Boo-er Ben Sheets with an incentive laden contract!

I also agree that if the price drops on Felipe Lopez, The Cubs really could use him at 2B.

Needless to say a frustrating offseason is starting to look up. Again... Thanks Neil for all that you do.

Go Cubs Go!!!

Cubs not so fun fact according to my Cubs Baseball 2010 desk calendar:
No Post-1900 Major League second basemen has had more errors in a single season than George Grantham's 55 in 1923.

--WOW!!!!! Makes Soriano look like a gold glover!

5 year plan:
Grace and Sutcliff in the broadcast booth.

Maddux is GM...Dawson his assistant...Sandberg the manager.
Sosa the permanent batboy.
(Sosa sells pharmeceuticals and cork on the side.)
Dunston is in charge of the scoreboard
and electric Shaun-o-meter.
Prior is the trainer's assistant.
Kerry Wood is President.
DLee the hitting coach.
AND it's the FINAL year of the Soriano contract.

Go Cubs Go.
(Wish I were going to the convention...)
Have a good time all!!!

For those of you who couldn't get tickets to the Cubs Convention, there are still other opportunities.

At least that's what I thought when I first saw the headline.

I thought it had something to do with the Kane County Cougars and the Chicago Cubs.

My bad!!!

I just read where the group in FL that's trying to land the Cubs there is holding a press conference tomorrow. Has there been any more scuttlebutt on what Rickets is going to do? Is there a chance that the Cubs could make an announcement at the convention. It would be a damn shame if they move to FL. There is much more downside than upside. Unfortunately the only upside may be $$$$ in the owner's pocket. S.O.S.
