From the Wire … Sandberg to Manage the Iowa Cubs

According to reports from the Sun-Times and the Tribune, Ryne Sandberg received a promotion on Monday and will manage the Iowa Cubs in 2010.

Update – 5:05pm C.S.T.According to a report from ESPN 1000, Ryne Sandberg will replace Bobby Dickerson as the Iowa manager. Bobby Dickerson took a job as a roving minor-league infield coordinator and Latin American field coordinator for the Baltimore Orioles.

The Cubs other minor league positions are expected to be announced next week.

Ryne Sandberg has been extremely vocal about his long term plans in recent months. Sandberg would like to take manage the Chicago Cubs one day. The promotion to Triple-A
