haven't posted in a looooong, but check back every day...thanks again Neil

As soon as I know when the Iowa Cubs play the Zephyrs, I'm buying tix. I've never been in a stadium where I'm rooting for the visiting team, but I'll be decked out in Cubbie gear for that one. Funny...I know more about the Iowa Cubs players than I do about the Zs

Imagine being able to get Ryno's autograph...I'm giddy thinking about it. I actually still have a program from a 1989 game I went to in Wrigley where he's on the cover...if he signs it, that's going in a safe-deposit box.

  • Neil

Mario...you are right it has been a while. Good to hear from you!

  • John_CC

Great news for Ryno and the organization. Some things are moving in the right direction.

I guess I missed the end of this post about Looper and posted it on the next article from Neil, but I don't know what would be so bad about Looper if the price is right. We really need a #4 or #5 starter and he would like to pitch for the Cubs, so maybe we could get a discounted price.

  • Neil

Not a problem with posting the Looper rumor ...

I question what he could give the Cubs more than Gorzelanny or Marshall ... basically value over replacement.

  • agustin rexach

I would really welcome Meche... and I agree with you guys No Looper

  • Ronald

According to mlbtraderumors.com Braden Looper is interested in pitching for the Cubs. Braden Looper thanks but no thanks.

  • Neil

Ronald, the Cubs were interested in Braden Looper last winter.

  • Ronald

I do not think he is our answer though, he will gives us the innings but that all overall I think his stats might not be good after that.

  • Neil

I agree, not a fan of Looper but the Cubs were rumored to be interested last year.

  • Ronald

Cardinals signed Brad Penny according to mlbtraderumors.com.

  • woody34

Watch Penny get 15 wins and a low 3 ERA under Duncan's watch!!!

  • Neil

I think you are right on with your prediction for Penny.

  • Ronald

Yep the Cardinals pitching staff is a lot better than ours. We need to do something about that.

  • woody34

    Neil,

We keep hearing that there are 3 or 4 teams interested in Bradley. Rays and Rangers being two of them. The Mets Castillo keeps getting mentioned in a Castillo for Burrell trade if we do that swap. My question is do you have any insight as to who the other two teams might be or speculation???

I think there are some sleeper teams out there that we do not hear about and I think the Royals make for one of those. I have been reading all over the place that they are willing to deal Meche, and we know how they want to get rid of Guillen - what are the chances of something like that happening?

Here's the next Cubs skipper folks.

  • Neil

Chris, good to hear from you. It's been a while

I love the Sandberg move & signing Rudy

    as hitting coach,

Those are the best moves so far...along with getting Miles.

If Hendry trades Marmol and/or Castro...

He better get a king's ransom for them.

At some point, the Cubs will have to make a decision between Hak Lee and Castro...but we're not there yet.

Unless a GREAT closer comes along at a cheap price...I don't see how Hendry can trade Marmol...even if he is a question mark...who's going to close???...Grabow??? It would be great to know Hendry's mind.

Pinella's campaigning for Cameron...I hate that...gee, he is only 37....If he's going to that...why not get Edmunds to UNretire on the cheap?

NO NO NO to Lou and JH in 2011...

    cmon Ricketts...don't leave the fox

in the chicken coop too long.

While the smoke screens, and rumors are entertaining...I do hope something good comes out of all this...seems like forever since we've had either a really good signing or trade.

It's terrible timing on my part to be without sevice.

  • Grant

i deff pick to put Hak-Ju Lee at SS and move Castro to 2nd anf have them bat castro 1 lee 2

  • Boseph Heyden

I love how they're moving him at the same pace as the prospects he's coaching. This way, the Triple A guys don't have to get used to a new coach, while the Double A and Single A guys have something to work towards.

    Smart move.

  • Neil

I am right there with you.

  • Guest

    GOOD NEWS!!

  • hackman

Awesome he might be our best prospect

  • woody34

Our best prospect, don't say that. He will get traded away for some scrub by Hendry!!!
