According to a report on Wednesday night from Bruce Levine, the Cubs and John Grabow are close on agreeing to a two-year contract worth nearly $7.5 million. Levine's sources indicated the deal could be announced by Thursday.
Bruce Levine reported over the weekend that the Cubs had faxed an offer sheet to John Grabow's agent last Wednesday. The Cubs are expected to lock up Grabow with the new two-year contract before the free-agent signing period begins on Friday.
