Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends but most importantly it is a time to give thanks for all of the blessings we receive on a daily basis. When you sit down with your family and friends today, take a minute to think about what in your life you are thankful for ... and just think it is only 130 days until Opening Day.
From everyone at the CCO ... Happy Thanksgiving
Beyond a Game by Jewel W.
It is a white ball against
a sky so blue it hurts your eyes
It is thick grass, so perfectly green
Day fading into evening
as cheers fade to silence
Soft moonlight on an empty park
Full of promise with morning light
Crack of a bat, the graceful are
flies over a wall
Little white thing, focus of all eyes
It is breathing hard in soft evening air
Running the perfect white line
To reach a base
Unending promise, untapped possibility
Beyond baseball, beyond a game
It is beauty

NATION REPRESENT!
A young widow and her only son used to trudge to Fenway in the '30s to find relief from the Great Depression for a few hours at a time.
The son grew up and moved far away, made a new life and raised a large family.
His mother continued her solitary trek to Fenway...and her son made a similiar
trek from lessons learned early...
To Wrigley.
" It's money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find reserved
seats somewhere along one of the baselines...where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes."
"The memories will be so thick, they'll have to brush them away from their faces.
People will come, Ray.
The one constant through all the years,
Ray, has been baseball.
America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard...rebuilt and erased again.
But baseball has marked the time."

The young man that raised a family far from home was my father/the young widow
my grandmother...both long gone...but the roots of my love for the Cubs.
I share my love of the Cubs...from the love of my family...to you...My Cubs family.
A toast to JimK with a nod and a wink...
AND
- A very Happy Thanksgiving and Holiday
Season ...be it easy or hard, to you...my Cubs family.
Neil, when I saw your headline, I thought maybe we finally traded Milton Bradley.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
