The CCO will have more in the coming days about Cubs' prospect Starlin Castro. He is getting rave reviews in the Arizona Fall League after a very good 2009 season. Keith Law from ESPN.com had this to say about Starlin Castro:
"Starlin Castro is a future star. He won't turn 20 until March but was one of the best and most impressive hitters I saw in Arizona." Law went on to say, "At shortstop, he has good lateral range, especially to his right, and a 65-70 arm on the 20-80 scale."
Keith Law mentioned the comparisons that have been made to Alfonso Soriano but Law quickly stated, "I heard a few comparisons of Castro to Alfonso Soriano, and although there's some physical resemblance, Soriano has a longer swing and always has been a bit of a hacker, while Castro has better bat control and ability to adjust to changing speeds."

Does he hop when he fields the ball?
I mentioned this name in a post a couple of days ago....and I still say this....
Screw the hype.....I'll believe what I see.
We've been burned too many times with hope for prospects....
The most recent...Felix Pie....and before him....Corey Patterson.....and to a lessor extent didnt we have Gary Scott and Kevin Orie at 3B....so please forgive me if I hold little faith in what I hear for our prospects.
I'm sure that even if the kid is the "real deal", between Hendry and Pinella they'll proclaim that there's no room for him on our major league roster based on the abundance of superstars occupying spots.
This team is so good at media hype, but never deliver the real goods in action.
Bryan, look at the bright side...
Pittsburgh is content with Ronny Cedeno
as their starting ss next season. :)
One of these days...just by osmosis...the Cubs should have a breakthrough.
Suzy...LOL.
I hope he reaches the bigs next year, just so I don't have to watch Theriot at SS. Scouts say Castro's arm is a 70, what's Theriot's? A 20?
Theriot needs to move to 2B or be traded as soon as Castro arrives.
