According to a report from ESPN Chicago, the Cubs called up So Taguchi from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday. The move required the Cubs to add So Taguchi to the team's 40-man roster. With the addition of Taguchi, the Cubs 40-man roster currently stands at 40 players.
The move indicates Sam Fuld's injury is not healing as quickly as they hoped.
Reports on Tuesday night indicated the Cubs might call-up either Tyler Colvin or James Adduci but with the Taguchi added to the Major League roster another move would have to be made in order to clear a spot for either of the minor league outfielders.
So Taguchi hit .248/.347/.333 in 85 games for the Iowa Cubs this season.
Will update if more information becomes available ...

This was one of those moves that made sense back when they might have been in playoff contention. They're not, and so Taguchi's "magical playoff performances" are unnecessary, as is he.
Maybe he will be called upon to pinch hit instead of Aaron Miles.
please tell me your right Jim lol
Perfect! another example of great upper management. Let's call up a guy that has absolutely no future with our club instead of giving a young player an opportunity to get some experience in a lost season.
