Neil, thanks for the blog-talk tonight.

    Some thoughts:

    1) Bradley is talking his way right out of baseball...not just the Cubs...and it's funny it's coming at a time when he's finally starting to produce...BUT

from a PR standpoint...Bradley might have to be released.

2)Just because Hendry and Kenney are still on the payroll after the sale closes...doesn't mean they will have

    full decision making powers.

I agree with your assessment...the Cubs don't have a #1 catcher...but they should still give Soto an opportunity to compete for it...If he comes in in shape

    and hungry...in the spring.

  • Neil

Suzy, thank you for your email during the show. I really think Hendry and Kenney will be back ...it will be an interesting November/December that is for sure.

  • Dorasaga

Neil: Thanks for the great work, as always.

Here's my question for tonight, in three parts.

Who's the best clutch hitter you know or believe of any Chicago Cubs in the past? And would you compare Derrek Lee to him?

Do you see DLee maintains his clutch performance in the year(s) to come?

  • Neil

Dorasaga, thank you for the comment ... and listening to the show. Did you agree with my answer?

Also, no more doubting Derrek Lee on my end.

  • Dorasaga

Yes, Sandberg was the first man I thought of, but I can't be sure. It's been too long. I never watched his game live, and I don't have the numbers to back this up.

But the past offseason when I checked on Lee, his numbers on high leverage situation, he was leading the Cubs. He was the defacto clutch producer for our pack the past two years.

The question I always ask of DLee, though, is if his age will get to him. In March, I was still not bought into his clutch ability to sustain. I thought his age will get to him.

Well, I'm wrong. But how about next year? I don't know anymore.
