Here is your mid-week update for our Young Cubs. It has been a pretty eventful beginning to week for first round picks. Josh Vitters (1st round pick 2007 Draft) is on a streak of historical proportions; he had at least three hits in five straight games and he homered in his last four before Wednesday. The names in this article put our top prospect in some pretty impressive company.
Andrew Cashner (1st round pick from 2008 Draft) got another start for Daytona and Monday and pitched two innings while giving up two earned runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
Here is even more former first rounder news: Tyler Colvin (1st round pick from 2006 Draft) returned after a ten day lay off from a concussion he suffered during a collision with Tony Campana. Colvin went 1-for- 4 with three strikeouts in his first game back on Tuesday.
In other news, Brad Snyder fractured his wrist earlier in the week and will be out four to six weeks.
