Updated – 12:46pm C.T. – According to reports from the Sun-Times, MRI on Carlos Marmol revealed a grade one sprain and he is expected to throw in the pen on Monday with a return targeted for midweek.

According to a report from Bruce Levine on Talkin’ Baseball, Aramis Ramirez is expected to be out of the lineup for at least three days. Levine spoke with his sources just before his show on ESPN 1000 began Saturday morning.
The Cubs will re-evaluate Ramirez on Saturday. Levine did not have an update on Carlos Marmol, who left with Friday night’s game with a strained muscle on the inside of his left knee, will also be re-evaluated on Saturday.
According to a report from the Sun-Times, Lou Piniella and Jim Hendry discussed the Cubs roster following Friday’s game for about 45 minutes. With injuries to Milton Bradley and Aramis Ramirez, the bench is very short and could force them to bring up some help from Iowa.
The Sun-Times mentioned Bobby Scales and Andres Blanco as possible candidates, neither one of the players are on the 40-man roster and Milton Bradley could be a candidate for the DL to make room for an addition from Triple-A.
