Soto Could Miss Time

According to multiple reports on Wednesday night, Geovany Soto will have his right shoulder examined in Chicago on Thursday by Dr. Stephen Gryzlo. The report from the Sun-Times titled the “DL becomes a possibility for Soto” stated Soto does “not have a strong feeling on when he might return.

The Cubs have five open spots on their 40-man roster. According to the Sun-Times, they could add Mark Johnson Friday to back-up Koyie Hill for the start of the series in Milwaukee.

The last time this type of injury happened to Soto was in Triple-A and it lasted around a week. Lou Piniella is hoping Soto is not out that long this time but they might have to make a roster move to add another catcher sooner rather than later.

During Wednesday night’s game, Len Kasper reported Soto will be listed as day-to-day starting Friday, but it could be longer.
